BAR – Architects,  P.C. was retained by St. John’s University to repair extensive damage to the Bourne Mansion caused by gale force winds.

This project included masonry replacement and fascia reconstruction to the exterior of the ball room on the east end of the mansion. Brick was selected to match existing and coursing was utilized to conform with adjacent walls. The upper fascia was replaced to match what was previously in place.

The Sunroom of the mansion was also severely damaged by the winds and BAR prepared drawings to reconstruct the exterior enclosure with hurricane resistant windows and doors in compliance with the state code requirements. In addition this project included fascia reconstruction in the two (2) locations on the south elevation of the mansion.
